ACT had to accommodate the needs of both the Communications and Sociology Departments in a flexible basement space along with support classrooms, lounges, and interstitial spaces. Employing dynamic felt acoustic panels, accent furniture, and custom lighting, ACT’s design brought to life a dim, lifeless space. Coordinating environmental graphics with a rhythmic array of lights, the design was able to draw down people into a sub-basement to create a destination space for events and meetings.
